Japanese weddingby ~Diedo1982

This is a wedding invitation I made for a friend of mine. He had been on a holiday to Japan with his fiancé, which had inspired them to want a Shinto-gate on the card. Two seperate paths join together beneath the gate, while banners on each side show the names of the groom and bride. The gate itself features a Hindu Ohm-sign.
The animal and plant life at the bottom were taken from photos of Japanese tapestries in one of the Dutch royal palaces, but altered for compositional purposes. I wanted to use them as inspiration, but I didn't have a tablet then, so everything I made was kind of disappointing.
The gate itself was drawn in Photoshop, the clouds in Illustrator. The whole thing was textured and layered together in Photoshop. It folded halfway (so at the top of the card), with a simple black and white invitation text on the other side.
